"Cuentos en kaqchikel" is a blog that publishes stories in the Kaqchikel language. The goal of this blog is to preserve and promote the Kaqchikel language, which was present in most parts of Guatemala since pre-Columbian times. In 2001, UNESCO declared Kaqchikel as "definitely endangered." This blog has been published for four years now and it is one of few blogs from Central America that publishes stories from a native language. It also speaks about politics and literatures, which mainly relies on Spanish terminology and Spanish grammar. A special mention goes to the section "Nostalgia" where the author publishes stories about his childhood. The blog has garnered thousands of visits and it maintains a presence on Facebook, Twitter and Google+. It was recognized by the Guatemalan magazine "El Perro del Mar", and was published in El Periodico (an annual publication issued by the government of Guatemala). The author of  "Cuentos en kaqchikel" is named Arturo Cortés. He is a native Kaqchikel speaker, and a writer who has been published in several Guatemalan magazines. His blog has been consulted by professors from Guatemala and the United States of America. In addition, he is participating in conferences about literary blogs from Central America. The author is also a student at the University of San Carlos of Guatemala, where he studies Philosophy. He also boasts a Bachelors degree from the University of San Carlos in Hispanic Philology. In 2015, the site was confronted with allegations of copyright infringement by a García Guerra. Cortés responded by convincing Google to add a notice to appear before the United States Copyright Office. In 2015, there have been other similar cases, including one pointing out that the site infringed upon another authors work. More specifically, it contained several stories and poems from Gustavo Adolfo Becquer's work titled "El Periquillo Sarniento".   Cortés denies any wrongdoing and claims that he does not know anything about this case and that it is only an accusation made against him after his removal from the site. 1.   http://nouvellesdeculture.com/7887-une-petition-pour-sauver-le-kakchikel 2.   http://www.elperiodico.com.gt/espectaculos/cine/noticias/3002540/un-artista 3.   http://perrosdelsur.org/?p=5387 4.   https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:o0PzSEzVu3AJ:https://webcache.googleusercontent. cfa1e77820
